How water saved a girl

The natural mineral water "Regina" has its own romantic story. Any local inhabitant can tell you this beautiful legend. It was in the distant 19th century.

It is said, that once a Polish nobleman Alexander Sabanskiy's daughter Regina fell ill with a serious disease. Having tried lots of medicines, the desperate father took healers' advice and brought the ill girl to their family estate Zhitniki in reserved Podol'ye.

Sabanskiy learned from local inhabitants about the miraculous properties of a forest spring welling out from under the ground and the water of which was called "water of life". The father and the daughter believed in the power of the "water of life". For several months the girl was drinking only from that spring, washed her face with that water and food for Regina was prepared with that water...

And the miracle came true! Regina recovered entirely and become merry, beautiful and cheerful as before.

It is said, that in honor of such happiness the spring water was named "Regina". Having heard about that story, sick and suffering started coming to the healing spring.  And "Regina" helped everyone.

There are no evidences that the mineral water "Regina" did harm to anybody. But the glory about the magic properties of the "water of life" from Podol'ye spread far beyond the boundaries of Ukraine. Before the October revolution the water was in good demand not only in tsarist Russia, but was exported in large amounts to Austria-Hungary, Rumania, Germany, Poland, France and other countries.

The unique formula of the natural gift of the Podol'ye spring has been many times examined in competent laboratories of Riga, Warsaw, Berlin, Petersburg, Odessa. And each time the water was given the most enthusiastic opinions of specialists. It was recognized that "Regina" increases the tonus and immunity of a human organism, for what it was marked by a letter of praise at the exhibition in Warsaw in 1902, was rewarded with medals in the section of mineral waters in Tsikhotsinka (1908), at the hygienic exhibition in Lublin (1910), at the agricultural exhibition in Proskurov (1912).

Then on each bottle of "Regina" an inscription was cast: "The best table water, available everywhere".

Under the Soviet power the "water of life" from Podol'ye was forgotten for long, and it was remembered only in the early 1950-s. However, the romantic legend about the miraculous water, which cured Sabanskiy's daughter, was never forgotten among the people. And people were coming to the healing spring again and again. And "Regina" was giving them good and health.
